Adam Rubin and Daniel Salmieri have collaborated on half a dozen critically acclaimed picture books. This imagery will be quite appealing to a young audience. I love how Salmieri mixed two colors in his colorings for added detail. They were reminiscent of thumbing through pages of some of my old coloring books (but WAY better!). Salmieri’s illustrations were spot on and (OH SO) enjoyable. Pretty sure you’ll have some laugh out loud moments too. The text seemed lyrical and the rhyming was amusing. It’s fun and adds an element of entertainment to something so simple–the high five. It’s longer than most picture books but you don’t notice it once you start reading it.
